Tobias Ewald – quant/werk – Software development
& automation
I build software that takes work off your hands.
Paper notes, Excel lists, data someone types from A to B by hand: I turn them into websites, apps, APIs and automations that simply run. For freelancers and businesses, without the jargon, and with one contact who actually picks up the phone.
Loose parts become building blocks.
- WebA website that just worksLoads fast, reads just as well on a phone, no page-builder bloat.
- AppAn app for your customersFor Android and iPhone. With a stamp card, appointment booking or push notifications, for example.
- APIPrograms that talk to each otherYour shop sends orders straight to your accounting instead of someone typing them in.
- AutoRoutine work that runs by itselfReports, lists and reconciliations that are done before you start your day.
- OpsThe technical side behind itServers, databases and interfaces. Cleanly built and documented.
- ?Not sure yet what you need? Then we work it out together. That is what the first conversation is for.
Building blocks become projects.
What I am working on right now and what I have built.

How every project runs.
- 01First conversationFree and without obligation. We clarify what you need.
- 02RequirementsI write down what will be built, so we are talking about the same thing.
- 03DevelopmentIn small steps, with regular progress updates and time reports. Billed by actual effort.
- 04Handover & operationYou get the code and the documentation. If you like, I keep looking after updates and hosting.
And why not just use AI?
An AI is only as good as the knowledge of the person using it.
I use it myself where it saves time, and I notice when it talks nonsense. But it does not know your business, it does not ask questions, and it does not pick up the phone when something stops working on a Monday morning. I do.
From the broadcast truck to software.
I started out as a trained media designer for picture and sound. I ran outside broadcast trucks and put live television on air via satellite. There is no second take.
Later I was a Business Application Manager, responsible for more than eight systems serving 1.2 million customers. Today I work full-time as an employed software developer and take on selected projects alongside that under quant/werk.
Television left me with one principle: It has to run.
Tell me about your project.
A few sentences by email are enough. I will get back to you.
We discuss scope and terms in the first conversation.
